The Chester Gardener
"Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made By
singing: -- "Oh, how beautiful!" and sitting in the shade." Rudyard Kipling
Our Chester Garden:
Our garden is a place of great contrasts from the hemlock boardwalks to the formal 'fairy' stone and water garden.

An ever changing display of trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses mark the ever changing seasons. Whatever the weather, snow permitting, there is always something of interest in this newly created garden.

Starting in late 2002 with a sloping garden consisting of lawns and shrubs and trees well past their sell by date, the structural bones of the garden were laid out first in 2004.

The overall design was determined by the axis through the front door of the 100 year old house. The visitor is led both visually and physically onwards through a series of individual circular spaces along a wooden boardwalk.
